Dave co-founded Electrum in 2012 and has played a key role in turning the company into the leading enterprise payments software company in South Africa. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Town and a Masters in Information Systems from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
CTO
Eon co-founded Electrum in 2012 and has been instrumental in ensuring that the company delivers technology that contributes to shaping the future of payments in South Africa. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Science from Stellenbosch University and an Honours degree in Computer Science at the Open University.
COO
Karin is an academic-turned-director who heads up Electrum’s Operations. Her role is focused on scaling Electrum while maintaining connections with the people behind the company’s success. Karin holds a PhD in Mathematics from Stellenbosch University, along with several certifications from various institutions.
Head of Partnerships
Anton is a Chartered Accountant who has carved a path as a partnership-focused commercial professional and business leader in the fintech industry. He holds a BCom Law degree from Stellenbosch University, and an MSc in Industrial Relations and Labour Economics from the University of Oxford, amongst other qualifications.
Head of Product
Werner has worked for different companies in the payments industry throughout the last two decades – from fintech startups to multinational corporations. He started working in the Southern African and US community banking and payments industries after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Science at the University of Pretoria.
CIO
Ferdi’s experience in data operations and management spans over two decades, across a variety of software companies. As the CIO, he plays a core role in managing Electrum’s security and compliance, data, and technological infrastructure. Ferdi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering from the University of South Africa.
Head of Professional Services
As Electrum’s Head of Professional Services, Lyndon ensures the sound delivery of each project Electrum partners with clients on. Lyndon’s career began in 1995 after he completed a BCom in Information Systems and Financial Accounting, and an Honours degree in Information Systems from the University of Cape Town.
Head of Engineering
Zayd became a Director at Electrum in 2018, having worked in Software Engineering for over a decade at the time. In his role as Head of Engineering, Zayd ensures that Electrum continues to thrive as an engineering-centric business. Zayd a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town.
Non-Executive Director
Mpho Sadiki is a seasoned payments professional with over 14 years of payments innovation experience and executive accountability, spanning a variety of wholesale and retail payments products and solutions. As well as serving as Head: Real-Time Payments (RTP) at BankservAfrica, he spent years serving in executive roles at Nedbank. Mpho holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Wits Business School, and has also graduated from two extended degree programmes abroad.
Non-Executive Director
After beginning a career as a Mathematical Statistics lecturer, Alewyn stepped into the banking world over 40 years ago - where he has made a significant impact in some of South Africa’s top banks over time. Alewyn holds several qualifications, including a Ph.D in Mathematical Statistics from the University of South Africa, as well as an Advanced Management Programme certificate from Harvard Business School.
